Orthotics -who needs them
and why?
Most people who suffer from chronic or re-occurring
muscular skeletal pain could benefit from Kinetic Orthotic
therapy.
Orthotic therapy is a form of treatment that began around
the principle of using a form of splint to support and
influence the foot in order to alter foot function.
The idea is that when foot function is altered in a
positive way the patients presenting muscular skeletal
pain can be reduced or even totally resolved.
Like most things, the more the understanding of how
feet function and how their function effects the rest
of the muscular skeletal system has evolved. The approach
to the way orthotics are designed and manufactured has
also evolved. The ability to predictably alter foot
function is now the key driving aspect in the technical
development of Kinetic Orthotics. We use the latest
computer technology to accurately improve orthotic design
variables. This technology is also used to reduce the
lack of reliability inherent in the traditional manufacturing
process. Our goal is to take the pseudoscientific art
driven approach and develop it into a true scientific
method of treatment.
Feet are the foundation on which we stand, walk, run
and play. When you stop to think about how much even
the average person uses their feet for locomotion alone,
is over 10,000 foot strikes a day. Every one of these
movements can add up to a considerable contribution
in stress to the muscular skeletal system. Furthermore,
just think of how much more the stress and pain could
be magnified if the feet were unstable or imbalance.
The human body has a remarkable ability to adapt and
compensate for muscular skeletal imbalance. The only
problem is that compensation to avoid pain in one area
can lead to pain in another area. Often treatment solely
aimed at the muscular imbalance in one-area can lead
to either temporary resolution in that area or a gradual
shift of stress and pain to a new area altogether. If
treatment does not involve the effective diagnosis of
the cause of muscular skeletal imbalances people can
be treated over a number of years for pains in their
knees, hips, or back whilst the feet are completely
ignored. In other cases, the feet are treated poorly,
further compounding the complexity of the ongoing symptoms
or creating a compelling false hood that their role
is irrelevant.
Kinetic Orthotic therapy has evolved over ten years
of research dedicated to understanding how orthotic
design can predictably improve muscular skeletal alignment.
A unique manufacturing processes was developed and combined
with set protocol for fitting and follow up so as to
effectively apply the maximum benefit of the orthotic
design to predictably alter function.
Come and experience the Kinetic Orthotic difference
today - it may well change your life.
With are liable product it becomes increasingly feasible
for the practitioner to specify and apply the kind of
orthotic control you need. The clear
goal of Kinetic Orthotic therapy can be defined. The
goal of Kinetic Orthotic therapy is to resolve supination
resistance and facilitate a smooth and efficient transfer
of kinetic force during the gait cycle.
Our approach to achieving this goal has been based on
an analysis of the way energy is transferred in the
foot during the gait cycle as described from different
planar perspectives, and then deriving a cohesive theoretical
model. The theory behind this reasoning is called Kinetic
Theory.
Kinetic Theory is based on the idea that in
order to have a gait cycle that minimises bio mechanical
inefficiencies it is necessary to balance the ground
reaction forces with the postural compensation forces
in such a way as to maximise the net transfer of kinetic
energy required for locomotion. This is to optimise
the partition of energy into locomotion and minimise
the disbursement of errant energy into alternative bio
mechanical sinks with possibly pathological results.
Over the past seven years of clinically testing and
evolving this product on over 7,000 individuals it has
now become possible to use a specific treatment protocol
in conjunction with the product to achieve extremely
reliable results. This evolving understanding has lead
to the development of a unique treatment protocol that,
when used with the product, delivers more consistent
and predictable change in a patient's gait. In fact
the combination of the design and manufacturing system
with the evolved protocol allows for any new user of
the system with minimal training to achieve the same
outcome as anyone else. The unique qualities of the
product allows for a wide degree of specific adjustments
that can be made as part of a method of progressive
function adaption of the foot due to the influence of
the kinetic orthotics.
Kinetic Orthotics are more than a prescription
made orthotic device, we provide a total treatment system
that offers guaranteed results in applications where
poor functional bio mechanical alignment is a primary
cause of existing pathology.
